Shane is a third-generation fisherman who started fishing professionally out of Forster in 1990. He worked as a deckhand on a tuna longline boat in the 90s, and then also was a deckhand on some Ocean Trap & Line boats. He got out of the industry around 2005 and has just re-entered the industry in partnership with his son in 2025.

What Shane loves most about the marine environment: I love everything about the marine environment – not just the fishing, but all the animals we get to see like whales, dolphins, and sharks!
