Matty Reeves has been a fisherman for as long as he can remember, with his interest beginning in the recreational sector. He began learning the trade of a professional fisher from his father who operated a small fishing business from Elliston. Matty first started working in the fishing industry as a deckhand for his father at the age of 13, before taking the step up to take on the family honoured role of being a professional fisher by the age of 17.
