Jarrod Day is a third generation professional fisher based in Port Lincoln. He started fishing in 1999 working as a deckhand in his family business. He worked as a deckhand in the tuna fishery in SA and as a sheller onboard an abalone boat. He took on the role of skipper in 2006, working for 15 years in the rock lobster fishery. In 2016 Jarrod purchased a marine scale licence working from 3 vessels depending on the method of fishing operation. These include the 24 foot Nereus (Knot Sure), a 4.8m Polycraft (Brumby) and an unnamed 4.2 Quintrex. Jarrod takes great pride in the seafood he produces, loves the freedom and lifestyle of being his own boss and being able to provide seafood for those who are unable to fish themselves.
