Murray is a recognised OceanWatch Master Fisherman, sucessfully completing formal training and assessment in sustainable work practices.
OceanWatch Master Fisherman Program
The OceanWatch Master Fisherman Program incorporates many aspects of responsible fishing including:
Quality assurance, bycatch reduction devices and techniques, animal welfare, threatened species management, catch documentation, marine pests management, habitat, pollution, indigenous fishing and workplace health and safety.
Training is facilitated by OceanWatch Australia and assessment is overseen by the NSW Fishing Industry Training Committee, linked to the Seafood Industry Training Package and industry wide codes of practice.
Murray’s qualifications include:
Maritime and Safety:
- Skipper Grade 3
- Marine Engine Driver Grade 3
- Safety Management System (AMSA)
Food Safety Training
- NSW Food Safe Certification
