Johnny Kouvaris

Location: Ceduna, Port Lincoln, South Australia, West Coast Zone

Johnny Kouvaris is a second generation fisherman who started fishing as a deckhand in 1999. He is highly skilled in the industry, has completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Fisheries at the Australian Maritime College in Tasmania, before taking on a role with the Australian Fisheries Management Authority working around the country in a fisheries observer program. In 2012 Johnny started working as a professional fisherman in the Marine Scalefish Fishery in 2012, taking after his Grandfather Jim Agrios. Johnny is based at Ceduna and works primarily from ‘Jimmy Boy’ his 18ft Nereus. Johnny loves all aspects of the ocean and the freedom of being his own boss.
