John is a second generation fisherman out of Ballina. He started as a deckhand on his father’s boat who was prawn fishing and spanner crabbing. He went to the Maritime College in Tasmania to be a Fisheries Inspector, but decided he liked fishing better and kept doing that instead!

What John loves about fishing: It’s a good life. I love the challenge of trying to go and find the catch!
