Dallas Johnson

Location: Ballina, Ballina Fishermens Co-Op, Richmond River, Tweed River

Dallas is a second generation fisherman out of Ballina who began fishing professionally in 1983. He started off river meshing, mud crab trapping, and spanner crabbing, and got into river prawn hauling after a while. He now only works in the river!

What Dallas loves about fishing: It’s an honest living. I love being self-employed and getting to make my own hours and be my own boss. Plus I love eating seafood!

What Dallas loves about the marine environment: The marine environment is where I’m alive. Is there anywhere better?

Where can you find Dallas’ catch? At the Ballina Fishermens Co-Op!
